So I bought this video game the Movies and while I only managed to play a few times, it kinda inspired me to try my hand at making YouTube videos. =)

the problem? The Windows Movie Maker that came with my computer is not so good. Might there be any free video editors that are easy to understand + have more functionality?

There's actually a better version of Movie Maker available as a free download from Microsoft. That said, if you want a decent video-editing tool, you'll have to spend some money.

Quicktime is a fine, free, and pretty easy to use video editing software.

Also, you can edit movies in youtube, as part of their new built-in cloud editor.
