Awesomeness. Sheer awesomeness. And the third video almost made me spit out what I was drinking, it was so great.

I think I've lived too long. Real things I can buy in stores are better than the science fiction gadgets I grew up reading about, and real life politicians are whackier than comedians on SNL.

Sure he was goofy, but basically, he is passionate about helping the poor and he doesn't think it is his business who other people marry. Be nice if some of our less hilarious politicians shared both those attributes.

Might not even be a poor issue necessarily. I think that for certain income levels, that rent IS too expensive compared to ownership due to various tax breaks for buying a house, paying for a mortgage on a house, renovating a house, etc. It would be nice to get rid of these (fat chance, I know).

The interesting part about all this is that we actually know the libertarian candidate who was at that debate. He's a bizarre human being. He also googles his name constantly and jumps in fists swinging onto forums and I got to witness the guy get absolutely schooled by a random assortment of kids. Like, it was flat-out embarrassing.

New York politics is just so damn entertaining. Next debate will feature a horse that got tired of being placed in the senate and wants to be elected on his own merits.

I think we all know who to blame for that.

People have been talking about how SNL hasn't been funny for years since Jimmy Fallon was a toddler. The problem isn't how bad SNL is; it's how people mostly remember the small percentage of good skits from years back, so they have a distorted notion of how funny it *ever* was.

Their biggest problem is taking a skit, be it funny or unfunny, and dragging it out until any possible humor dissipates.

Most episodes have one or two good laughs, but they're diluted by the crap.

That's been SNL's standard operating procedure as far back as I can remember.

I do believe that if I ever meet that man in public, I will buy him a beer.

While I think you are mostly right, there was still the early and mid 90's where they happened on some genuinely talented comedians: Miller, Hartman, Hanks, Farley, Lovitz, Sandler, Spade. They were funny in many different ways, and when combined, produced some hysterical sketches, with catch phrases that frequently entered into everyday banter. They've had funny comedians since then, Tina Fey and Farrel when he was tamer, but never truly captured such a sheer concentration of funniness. I think 30 Rock does a fantastic job at times showing why it's so hard to get comedians to be funny together.

This guy is so cool. Black gloves and everything. He was the best dressed candidate there by far. Watch the other candidates jump on this movement and add it as a plank for their platform. He's too charismatic, and too good at selling the idea for that not to happen.

I imagine Superman has a similar problem. You know, accidentally posting Superman stuff to his Clark Kent account and vice versa.

SNL has 30 years of material, and about 5 years of good material. They should stop producing new shows, cut the 5 years of good material with 5 years of mediocre material, and air it for another 10 years as a clip show.

Well, if he could afford rent, he'd be the "Rent is uncomfortably high, but I can manage" candidate [Wink]
