So my Dad for many years has been interested in photography. Way back, maybe 20, 25 years ago, he was an avid photographer and had a very fancy camera which he lost on a trip.
He's never gotten round to replacing it.
I'm wondering if anyone might have ideas how to get discounts on cameras. I think a camera of the quality he'd like is around $500-600, but my budget is only $300-400.
Any thoughts/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Nearly all Nikon lenses from past eras are compatible (hardware at least) with modern Nikon DSLR bodies. Some automatic features may not work (like focus). You might consider picking up a used Nikon body, and then keep an eye out for someone selling a whole kit of gear for their old film bodies. I have seen whole kits with lots of lenses and accessories go for pretty cheap.
