Those of you have been to the front page may have noticed videos of Mr. Card discussing this new audiobook. I hadn't heard of it until I stumbled on it, so I thought I'd share it here.

Part of me is hesitant that Ender's Game is being altered, but then I remembered Ender's Game started out as a novella, and was expanded into a novel, and it was a good thing. Couple that with the fact that Mr. Card's books work extraordinarily well as audiobooks, by virtue of the fact he write dialogue by saying it aloud, along with the people involved in the voice acting, and I think it's going to be a very exciting product.

I've pre-ordered it because I am very interested in seeing the end result. I'll let y'all know how it turns out.

Oh yes, definitely getting it. I have never bought an audio book in my life, but I'll get this one simply because it sounds like a fantastic experiment.

I'll definitely be getting it. OSC has been pretty clear that he's wanted to have a chance to re-write Ender's Game to better fit into the wider Enderverse he's created since that book was originally writen, and this sounds like his first effort towards that end. I can't wait to see how it sounds with the full cast, too.

Well, that makes me very happy to have hard paper copies of the original novel. I will keep them with my VHS copies of the un-updated Star Wars original trilogy and continue in my happy-land bubble.

In the case of Star Wars I am actually quite sad I have the newer DVD set. I wish I could have the unadjusted set.

The 2006 DVD release contains the unadjusted movies.

Sadly, it contains fairly low-quality rips of the unadjusted movies.

If you really want the best Star Wars possible, you'll need to grab the torrents that combine some of the improved special effects, sound, and digitally-cleaned film of the Special Editions with unaltered scenes from the original.

Disney will release them on blu ray at some point. Too much money involved not to.

I might check this project out eventually, but I am glad I will still have access to the original version of the novel. That's the version I fell in love with originally.
