This is almost embarrassing to watch, today is the day Hillary's presidency and effectiveness in that role is confirmed.

Clinton is testifying at the Benghazi committee. We get to watch the GOP pretend that email is a great way to get some one's attention. Fortunately for those with a weak stomach, they don't seem to trying very hard to pretend that they care about the people who died.

I listened to a lot of it while I was at work today.

I waffled back and forth between amusement and rage.

My favorite moment was the woman asking Hillary to explain why two junior level staffers who weren't even on her personal staff and were probably five levels down from her were gossiping about what she did and didn't know.

My second favorite moment was the guy who read her statement back to her and then proceeded to bizarrely mischaracterize it. Her statement was something like "some will say that the videos were an excuse for the attacks on Benghazi..." the unspoken afterword there being "But that's bullshit." Yet somehow he interpreted that to mean "I believe the videos caused the attack." His reasoning? She said the words video and attack. All the other words in between and around were unimportant filler. After he repeated himself maybe a dozen times and Hillary refuted it a dozen times she finally seemed to just give up. I thought it was a pretty succinct definition of just how insane our political discourse has gotten that you can quote someone's words to them, give your own interpretation, and then berate them into silence because no one knows how to deal with that level of crazy.

I do not support Clinton in no way but I wonder what would people expect in such situation: guy understood the statement in his own way and just refused to listen, however it seemed like Clinton overdrow with explanation of meaning by herself.
