I was reading some ancient history at the dinner table tonight (I know, I know, I shouldn't be reading at the table), when the idea for this popped into my head.
***Story deleted at the suggestion of many, since this public forum would count as an on-line publication of this very, very short story -- if you're interested in reading it, let me now and I'll e-mail it to you***

Flash Fiction? I hear there is a market for it. There was even a thread about it a few weeks ago. Clever little story!

There's a Canadian magazine called NFG; some of you may be familiar with it. They publish an ecclectic mix of material on a quarterly basis. Each quarter NFG also sponsor's a contest they call The Great 69'er. Looking for the most interesting story people can tell -- in exactly 69 words -- they accept these 69'ers on-line, publish the best 15 or so they get, and then let the readers vote for the winner. I have one in the upcoming issue called "A Mid-Winter's Hydro Engineering Project," and I'll enter this one, too, for the issue after.

Edmund does have the option to delete this his post, thus removing any traces of "online" publishing. Just so long as no one steals it and posts it elsewhere, it should be okay.

My understanding is that if you post something in an on-line writer's workshop with for the purpose of critiquing it, it does not count as on-line publication. I think this forum is kind of a gray area though, so thanks for reminding me of that. It's a good point I had forgotten about. I'll take it down at the end of today.

What about us? I'd say we're on the cutting edge of several things. We're going to take over the world, don't you know? (At least if you believe the things that get printed in MAXIM magazine )

Hmmm, I have noticed there are guard posts between here and there. If the Canadians are so safe, why do we have to guard the border? LOL! Just teasing Besides, I understand someone has dug a tunnel down by Detroit somewhere.
