Some of you may remember that I posted about this contest I'm involved in, in which I must hand in a 112 word story. Here are the first 13 lines. Your comments are welcome.
Jaime loved paper hats. His mother hated them. She warned him, “Stop wearing those stupid hats, and those paper clothes.” He shrugged. He liked them. His mother had a hard time washing them. “I’ll take care of them,” Jaime said. “You mark my words, Jaime, you’ll regret wearing those clothes.” He laughed. Next week was the party, with all the paper wearers. With the party came singing, dancing, a bonfire. Sparks flew, clothes ignited; six killed, many injured and left naked.
