I am curious as to how one would go about co-writing a novel with another writer. I have co-written songs, and I suppose it goes the same way. Anyone have any input?

I imagine it's the same as writing a story yourself, except that instead of sitting back and thinking, 'Right, is the main character male or female?' (for example), you say it your co-writer. Basically, that every process you go through writing a story has to be done by the other guy too, and they you have to argue and then compromise on any differences of opinion. To me, it sounds long, hard, and a pain in the arse, since every idea you have can be vetoed by the other guy, or made to be less good out of compromise.
Needless to say, I anticipate trying it some time!
