I wrote a piece of flash fiction (short short fiction, it's just under 1k words) targeted at adolescent boys, and I was wondering if anyone would be willing to read it and give me a little feedback on it. If so, feel free to email me at ohanson@fit.edu or rahl22@hotmail.com, or even give me your email and I can contact you.

Thanks!

Dunno what flash fiction is, and this isn't really the board to solicit critiques, but I'm a bored adolescent male, so, go ahead and send it.

I knew it wasn't quite the right spot for it, but this section of the board seems dormant enough - I wasn't sure if anybody even checked the other sections.

Oh, and flash fiction is just a name for short short fiction.

Flash fiction is also a term for fiction that is written very fast, in one sitting, without any editing. (Which is why it's usually short short.)

Sometimes, when you can't get the "juices" flowing, you can give yourself a topic and just write for five minutes on it. That's called flash writing, and often it will help jump start your creativity.

Rahl, we'd much rather people post requests for feedback as you have done than that they post the story. The way you've done it is fine.

I hope you get lots of volunteer critiquers.

Ooh, I did that once. Much pleased with the results I was, fun I had, helpful it was.
Yoda I am...
Anyway, all the Kathleen said is correct, in my opinion (not that she needs the validation, of course, but I offer it free of charge). Very good for those creative juices, and a bit of a laugh. And good if you're involved in a long project and you want a quick break from it.

Oh, really? We can ask for critiques?

I thought we had to go somewhere else, to that Fragments place or in a group or something . . .

Hmm...sorry for bad advice, then, guess I was wrong.

Well, yeah. The Fragments place is where you should do it, but it really isn't that far away.

(I'm not going to pounce on someone because they're too lazy to look around for the right place to post a request for feedback. They have to know there's a place to look for in the first place, after all.)
