Does anyone know of a good writer's confrence on the west coast this year? A conference for SF/F would be nice. I want to go to one, but I want to be sure I spend the money on a conference that will be of some benifit.

Yes, I am afraid that I won't be allowed out of the house for 6 weeks...wouldn't it be a great experience, though. I was thinking along the lines of a three day conference. One of the members of my writing group just went to one in San Diego that looked pretty good, but I didn't find out about it in time.

Marianne, Here is a link for Amherst Writers and Artists, and i noticed there were a few on the west coast. I don't know if you will get a pure fantasy workshop with them, but they are a very well known and respected group.

Yesterday I sent my application in to the Maui's Writer's Retreat. I am trying to get into Terry Brook's track on Writing from the Idea. I managed to swing a six day retreat and a four day conference by taking my partner with me That's one way to go to a long conference Anyway, if any of you have ever been to this particular retreat and conference I would love to hear what you think of it.
