What a fun problem! Did you ever pretend things as a kid? Well, pretend she's a sap. Treat her like an mostly different character if that's what she is. Maybe try writing a segment of a harlequin romance to warm you up. I'll post a link to some funny ones we did on the "Forums" side.
Every person has speech patterns, and everyone has a distinctive "vocabulary." Since you are the author, I imagine this character's speech patterns and vocabulary aren't too far removed from yours. But it's more what she says and the words she chooses to use that make the moment. You know some sappy words--use them. This sounds like fun...I wish I were writing it.

Hatrack Romance Writers? Are there other forums lurking on this site? I must be totally compu-dense because when I click Forums I just get Battle School and an 1830's thread and a loop back here.???

I will write up a pool of vocabulary words she uses--in fact I'll do that for all the important chars, it'll keep them special-- and I can change the pool over time.
Any examples of good soppy words?
Kolona, I am as surprised about this as you are. Another section of the Hatrack has been revealed today, a wonderous occasion!
