My silliest character is a devout Catholic homosexual transsexual in polygamous marriages with both men and women, pre and post op :-)

I see a difference between character personality and attributes. Example, a conservative Republican who approves and actively supports abortion. Somewhere between opposing attributes you can find interesting friction and internal dialogue.
