Please email me (DO NOT SUBMIT HERE) 13 lines or so of fiction writing that: 1) was completed before February 2005 2) and has not been critiqued or viewed at Hatrack 3) that you will allow to be posted at another forum for several weeks
Please preface the email subject line with 'Hatrack Experiment'.
quote:EDIT: For some reason the !@@#$#@ forum software won't let me allow non-registered people to vote, even though there is an option to allow that.
So, to vote, please email me your votes, and I'll post the results here instead.
Please make it intuitively obvious. Something along the lines of:
#1 [your vote here] #2 [your vote here] etc
Sorry.
On Friday, March 11th I will reveal the gender of the writers (but not their identify) and will post the results here at Hatrack.
If you receive an email spamblocker message from me, don't worry, I will get the email anyway, as I sort through spam mail. I will add you to my allowed senders list.

We have 16 entries so far and 3 votes. Those who have not voted for later submittals, please do so.
I am going to cut off the submittals at noon today and leave the experiment open to voting.
At the moment the results are hard to interpret, given just 3 votes. Please vote if you haven't. The voting is NOT restricted to those who submitted. In fact it would be better if we had more voters who have not submitted.

It's easy to vote. I just did and the story snippets are really interesting. There's one or two that I'd like to read all of. The one with The Scientist and The Artist in particular.
Since I've already voted you could just send it to me...I promise not to tell who you are.

I agree about that snippet. What a great start!
So far, and as you would expect, there is a great deal of gender confusion out there. :0
We have 14 votes.
I received MANY comments that it was harder than the voter thought it would be, to tell the difference. They were right.
There are several surprises, though. Let's get about 4 more votes and I'll reveal all. Well, almost all. I won't reveal who wrote what, just their gender.
