As a newbie to this forum, I have run across many abbreviations I am not familiar with, some I am. For example:
WotF= Writers of the Future
WIP = ??

Could we get a list of common Hatrack acronym's/abbreviations and their meaning?
Perhaps even get it added to the FAQ for future referencing?

We don't have as many at Hatrack as at other sitse because, as writers, we expect our peers here to, well, write.

There are a few we do use, though:

WIP = work in progress
BIC = butt in chair
HUB = Hatrack utility belt (someone will have to dig up this old thread)
POV = point of view

3PLO: 3rd person limited omniscient viewpoint.

There are other variations on that theme: FP = first person, etc.

Ahhh yes, the popular markets for our work:

ROF = Realms of Fantasy
F&SF = Fantasy and Science Fiction
A&A = Abyss and Apex
SH = Strange Horizons (although this is usually spelled out around here, I have seen it written this way)

Gosh, that's cool. You can make all kinds of words, even whole sentences that way. I wonder it it's possible to write a whole conversation, or even a short story this way?

LOQT. RUOKQT? OICUR2L8. YOYRUL8? ICQ. U2. CUL8TR. OK,U1.

I can also think or four or five lewd suggestions that include the number 4 and the letter Q, but I won't post them here.
