hey sorry to ask like this, normally i would post the first 13 lines in the other area, but as the paper is not actually a story, but more of a research paper, which does not neccesarily require a hook. I was just wondewring if anybody would be wiling to read through a paper i wrote for class on the rise of soccer in the United States? it is only 1402 words, and it wouldn't need to be picked through with a fine tooth comb. My first question is: Are you a high school kid, and the point of the assignment is to see if you understand the principles of writing? If so, to have us critique it would be a cheat. Your teacher would want to see what YOU have learned, not the corrections we give you.
If you are an adult and this research paper is going to be submitted to an audience, then it's a different matter. I would suggest (don't know if Kathleen agrees with me) that if this is the case, you go ahead and post it to the F&F section at that point.

i am in college, and the point isn't to see if we understand the principles of writing. the point of the course is to learn how to better our writing through interacting with our audiences (something some writers never get to do). we actually go through several stages during the writing of our papers where we submit the essay to our peers, and they go through and critique it for us. And what i will need from a critique is basic information like, do i get my point across, is the information understandable, etc.. p.s. i apoligize if my posts don't make much sense, i have been up for 32 hours, and i am not sure why.
