I've never done NaNoWriMo, but my 11-year-old heard about it and wants to do it. I know there's a kids version of it, and he has to sign up. Beyond that, though, I'm wondering if anyone here has anything interesting to say about experiences they've had going through it with kids.

Thanks,
Oliver

I've read a little about it and it seems to me that it's a way to separate the adults from the children with writing quality. My opinion on it of course, or it could be the same thing but with the young'ens involved they may need extra motivation to write.

Here's the youth writer's program. Don't have any personal experience with it, but I think it's great that he wants to do it.
