Today I did what I haven't done in a while: I finished a story or better yet, a novel. 137k words, to be precise. It is a longest one I did so far therefore I feel quite triumphant, especially since I was messing with the ending for too long now. Of course the job is far from finished. I will have to review it a couple of times, make hundreds of changes, but the bulk of the text is done.

Here's too all those writers who actually complete their works. We all know that's not easy.

Only hundreds of changes? That must be a pretty good first draft

Good job. Are you going to let it sit a little before you go back to it, or keep up the momentum and start editing right away?

Nothing like being done with something you've worked on for what seems like forever...I felt good deciding I was finally done with a lengthy something I started in February; now it sits over on top of my printer, all packaged and just waiting for me to get the chance to buy some priority stamps.

I hope to feel good about finishing the rough draft of my novel sometime by the end of this year...I also hope it comes out about that length, too.

I think I will go right in for the big stuff and work on little things with time. The bigger the blunder, the quicker you see it.

Now I can actually start dreaming about publishing...

Congratulations, it is inspiring, i have 6 chapters left until my major rewrite is done. Then it is editing and revising... thanks for the incentive to get my butt off the desk top and on the lap top to finish the story.
