As I am refereeing the flash fiction contest and not participating, I got bored.
I have posted a micro-fiction contest in the challenges section. CHECK THE RULES THERE FIRST. It works on the basis that the first 25 people to post are in--so there is a speed element. Has to be exactly 50 words--so about 5 minutes work. OVER OR UNDER THE WORD COUNT MEANS IT IS NOT VALID ENTRY--edit until it fits.
Don't strain yourself--it's less effort than writing a sarcastic response to someone else's post.

No, you don't automatically win. When you have posted in the right section (Challenges -- Micro-fiction challenge) as long as you are one of the first 25 to post on the RIGHT thread you are 'in the competition'.
When we have 25 entries posted, each eligible person will edit their post to include their vote after their story.
I was hoping the whole thing would take a couple of days at most.
