I'm continuing my search for an agent. Five rejections so far.One of the next agents I'm planning to query just asks for a "sample chapter". Of those that want a sample of the manuscript, most have asked specifically for the first x number of chapters or pages. This agent doesn't specify.
Does anyone have an opinion or information on whether I should stick with the first chapter or maybe choose something closer to the climax, even though the background for a later chapter will be lacking?
