It's that time of the week again, time for the kick in the pants. The idea is that having somewhere to report progress will spur you on to make some. So I'm posing the question to all of us here. Did you write this week? As we have been reminded in the past, writing for the purposes of this thread can mean just about anything you want. You did some editing? Report it here. Outlining, pre-writing or any other kind of prep work? Sure, that counts too. And, of course, writing new work always counts.
I had a fairly productive week, largely due to being ill and off work for two days. Really, I've been sick all week, but I've never let that stop me. I finished my first round of edits on All Stitched Up, and am in the middle of my final round on The Nine before I send that to test readers. It feels a bit strange to be at that point with the book that closes my first trilogy, but I'll get used to that feeling. Maybe. Someday.
I also went over my outline for my NaNo novel, which closes out my second trilogy. It needed a couple of tweaks, but now it's all set. I want to write it, but can't. I promised a friend that we'd do NaNo together, as it's her first time, so I have to be patient. Did I mention that I'm not good at being patient?
In between all that, I've been steadily building my next project, Spire of Time, and part of that was writing a short story to begin exploring the world. I've done this on my last two projects and it's worked out well for me. So that was about 4600 words as I recall and, on top of that, realized that there's another short that wants to be written in preparation for this project. I'll get to that when I'm ready, but it's nice to have that start to flow well.
I did a couple of blog posts and am still editing a friend's manuscript. That part has been slow because I've been sick enough to be on meds and, while I'm okay with editing my own work slightly out of my head, I don't want to do with someone else's stuff. I'll get back on track with that this week, I'm sure, if I can just get this cold to go away.

Lots of rewriting and proofing... I guess that counts. Got another book published as a paperback.

Yes I did. I'm multitasking by doing revisions on MAGE STORM and BLOOD IS THICKER at the same time. I also wrote a flash (Me? A flash?) that'll be entered in the Halloween challenge after I have a chance to go over it again.
Plus working on a crit and two blog posts about ,arketing and cover art and the sexiness of bright, shiny new ideas.

I wrote five hundred words on Thursday and five hundred more on Friday---even though I'm on vacation, I'm still having trouble getting it together enough to write...

Just finished this month's novelette (I hope to complete 1 per month until the end of the year). It's entitled The Witch's Curse.
I'm giving it the once over, then I'll post the first 13 to see if any of my fellow hacks...oops, I mean "Hatrackers"...want to give it a look before Halloween (donning their goalie masks and chain saws...rrrrrr!).
While I wait for the headers, bodies of paragraphs, and dangling testicles (oops...I mean participles) to collect in twisted unrecognizeable dog-bites on you butchers' floors, perhaps I'll have time to draft a few weak mewling words for Dustin's <1000 word Halloween challenge before moving on to complete next month's novelette.
By year's end I hope to turn back and, with your helpful comments and critiques, look at each story afresh and begin revising.
Respectfully, Dr. Bob

Yes, been writing all week. Just finished my novel last night and I'm super stoked. I have never written a novel before, therefore, I have never had the pleasure of finishing one. Of course, I still have lots of editing to do, but I get to put it away for a while and work on other things now and that makes me happy.

Congrats on the completion! Finishing #1 is an awesome feeling. You've probably thought and/or said how many times that you're, "going to write a novel someday."
