It's that time of the week again, time for the kick in the pants. The idea is that having somewhere to report progress will spur you on to make some. So I'm posing the question to all of us here. Did you write this week? As we have been reminded in the past, writing for the purposes of this thread can mean just about anything you want. You did some editing? Report it here. Outlining, pre-writing or any other kind of prep work? Sure, that counts too. And, of course, writing new work always counts.
I wrote 25,036 words on my NaNo novel Still They Watch, bringing me up to 72,174 total. The end is in sight, sorta, and I suspect I'm still going to end up around 100k. It seems to be my new normal.
How is everyone else's NaNo going?
In addition to that, I wrote a few blog posts and had another story idea kick me in the head. I swear, it felt like a mule's hooves. I can't wait to explore it, but I have so many other projects patiently (and impatiently) waiting for their turn. Never enough time.
Oh, and I, um, published my first book, Bound (Mirrors of Bershan, Book 1). Yesterday was rather exciting because of that. I can't believe I actually managed to write anything this weekend, with that shorting out my brain.

Unfortunately, I only heard about nanowrimo in the middle of this month, so I am having mine in january and well as november of next year. So I have been preparing for the with a 2k word outline so far... plan to have that expounded to around 10k next week.
I have also been critiquing a lot of work here on hatrack, that has been a very growing experience, as well as been going through "Beginnings, middles, and ends." studying and doing the exercises on a new story called "pumped up"
So far so good...

Lot's of critiquing for fellow Hatrackers, WOTF Critique Group Members, my neighbor and Ellery Queen Magazine author and book reviwer's first novel query and synopsis, and my father's ninth crime novel, while I await critiques of my November novelette by the WOTF Critique Group.
Pounded out a quick 1900 words yesterday of a (I promise) short story entitled "The Hunt" inspired by the Fall hunting season in my native northern Maine woods. Should have this done and up for 1st 13 next week.
Preparing to write my December novellete.
I'll be giddy if I actually complete three novelettes, a flash, and a short story this October through December while working full time.

Except for that five-hundred-word start I mentioned last time, nothing...stalled out, though I've been a bit busy.
But I've got three days off with Thanksgiving, and have lately been relieved of the burden of hosting the family gathering and cooking for it. I should have *some* spare time...

Two weeks ago, I wrote THE END on my Adam Staaph story. at Page 16 with 7436 words. I sent it to my first reader and she said "It has possibilities, but it really needs work.
I dabbled with a few sentences over the intervening time but today got an idea on how to fix it and dug into it. I added 400 words to it since I had said the end, and am ready to write a whole new scene.
I had also written a three page scene that will never likely see the light of day, not even as a story idea. I just had to get it out of my mind.
Of course, I have not done any story ideas since my accident. I have not come up with very many since then either.

No, damn it! But I did critique and edit two 100K word plus stories. Does writing disparaging comments count? But, honestly folks, it was all done in the best possible taste.
