It's that time of the week again, time for the kick in the pants. The idea is that having somewhere to report progress will spur you on to make some. So I'm posing the question to all of us here. Did you write this week? As we have been reminded in the past, writing for the purposes of this thread can mean just about anything you want. You did some editing? Report it here. Outlining, pre-writing or any other kind of prep work? Sure, that counts too. And, of course, writing new work always counts.

I've had a good week, continuing to progress through Camp NaNo and therefor through my novel, What Lies Beneath. I wrote 46,599 words, including just over 10k on Saturday. It's been a lot of fun too partly because I've ben leading sprints on Twitter under the hashtag #writeclub. Somehow, going flat out for 30 minutes with other writers and reporting at the end has become the second-best part. The best is the story itself.

Total word count after two weeks is 90,241 words. I'm a little over halfway through the outline now, which is leading me to extrapolate the potential final length and cringe a bit. That's a lot to edit... Oh well. It's a great story, so it's worth it. (easy to say now, I know.)

Other than that, some blog posts and still criting a friend's MS. Oh, and a few plot bunnies hopped in and are trying to gnaw on my already busy brain. The sensation is... interesting.

That's it for me. How about you? Did you write?

-Julie

Yes, but I'm hitting a hump. The sequel to Athame is up to around 50k words, and I'm coming to believe that my original plot line has a rough patch in it. So I sat down last night and came up with four different options to smooth it out. Which, with sub-options, sticks me with trying to decide between ten different ways I could make this work.

Now I have to take a bath in coffee and decide which one will actually come off the best in terms of the overall story.

*sigh*

Yes, I wrote. Mostly on MAGIC AND POWER (which, at almost 40,000 words has officially moved from probably novella to novel).

Also, two blog posts and a couple of crits.

Another washout week. Part of my time was taken up with dealing with a burst water pipe...but, in all probability, I wouldn't have written anything anyway.

I'm hopeful in a couple of weeks...I've got a three week vacation coming up, which looks like most of it will be another "stay-cation" like my last one...maybe, *maybe* I can get some writing done during that.

I was sick three weeks ago and have not quite fully recovered all my sleep. Been going to bed early, which kills writing.

Re-doing the start of one of my stories.

I have a lot of information to add and have to avoid the dreaded info-dump.

Going to be fun to figure out how to get it done. I also have to explain some features of the society and have not worked it out yet.

I did get this opening over 500 words so that is good.

1700 words in the last two days, an important new scene in the middle of Book Five of my neverending Epic. And I learned something about my MC that I hadn't known before. Someday I'm going to take him out behind the barn and thrash him til he gives up all his secrets.
