It's that time of the week again, time for the kick in the pants. The idea is that having somewhere to report progress will spur you on to make some. So I'm posing the question to all of us here. Did you write this week? As we have been reminded in the past, writing for the purposes of this thread can mean just about anything you want. You did some editing? Report it here. Outlining, pre-writing or any other kind of prep work? Sure, that counts too. And, of course, writing new work always counts.

As it's Camp NaNo and I'm participating, I did a lot of writing. Not as much the week before, but that one had a holiday in it. This week, I put in 44,113 words on From Heights We Fall. I'm fairly sure I'm on the back half of the book, but I'm not sure how far into that I actually am. So hard to know for sure how long it'll be until it's done.

Other than that, I made a lot of notes on my Ashes and Angels story. Really thinking that'll be my next project when I finish writing this trilogy.

I also got hit over the head by a new story idea. It seems like a good one, so I made a bunch of notes on that too. Maybe on a few other ideas as well. I'm not sure. It's kinda lost in a haze of words. [Wink]

That's it for me. What about you? Did You write?

-Julie

Yes, I did! :) I've been doing pretty well about writing every day for Camp NaNo. I've written over 1667 words just about each day, some days over 2000. Yesterday I didn't write as much because I wasn't feeling well, but I'm hoping to make that up today. Today I've written about 950 words, but I'm not done writing for today, so we'll see how I do. I'm just working on this one novel, but I think I'm doing pretty good for my first try.

Yes, I wrote. I completed the final draft of BLOOD IS THICKER, worked on the query for MAGE STORM, and started the third draft of MAGIC AND POWER.

I also worked on a couple of crits and wrote two blog posts.

I reached fifty thousand words---and stopped deliberately at that point to reread what I've written and decide where to cut and where to start, and maybe work up an outline on where I'm going. Ironing out inconsistencies---I changed the main character's backstory without realizing it. And let's not forget dividing it all into chapters---I've got no chapters, only scenes, and it's just one long MS on the computer. (Oddly enough, I've just reached a key point in the plot---essentially, one character realizes something important about the main character.)

It's not like it's stopped and I'm blocked again---I know where I want to go from this point and I even have an ending worked out. But I've still got to work out a lot in between.

Wrote almost 2k this morning (2-3am), and more will follow tonight. I breached 1000 pages almost proper format (I didn't do the chapter spaces yet, which will add more than forty pages, because I'm waiting for the third draft or so for that). Nearly done with the first draft. Hopefully, I'll write "The End" this week.

Outlined side character arc. It finally clicked into place, so I'm pleased with that. For the past month or two I have not been writing at all other than outlines and notes. This is not good. My goal is 5k more words by July 22.

I wrote just a bit. Did some reviewing. Trying to get back into the swing of things after a hiatus.
