Zobran was forced to wait out the old wizard after he murdered the other possible heirs, Valeriah’s family. Zobran did take one precaution, though. He placed a curse on both Valeriah and Crystal to make sure that they would never be able to marry. He wants them alone and defenseless. Well, as defenseless as a werewolf ever is, anyway. Rolf was not in his plans.
Crammed into a small hideaway, it’s hard to ignore Rolf’s charms. Valeriah’s resistance is slipping when she accidentally discovers that he is a dragon in human form, one of the very race she suspects of murdering her family. Feeling betrayed, she runs off--and runs and runs for days, trying to calm herself. When she returns, she is astounded to find Rolf still in their hideout with Crystal. She tries to send him away, in the process revealing the reason why she distrusts all dragons.
