Welcome to this week's Novel Support Group (NSG). Anyone can join. If you're new, tell us a bit about who you are and what project you are working on. Feel free to update the NSG Work in Progress thread with your current projects. Although we can report on any number of things, here is a list of suggestions (suggestions welcomed).

  • What were your goals last week and did you accomplish them?
  • Describe what you worked on.
  • Set goals for next week.
  • Did you learn something during this week?

Here is a list of things that you can do each week as we work on our novels (suggestions welcomed).

  • Writing on a novel
  • Characterization
  • World Building
  • Relevant research

Last Week's Goals

I'm still just sitting back and reading. The book I finished last night was not in the genre I normally read and I don't write it either. However, it was written by an author I follow. Now, I need to decide what I want to do. I've been itching to write something but I feel that I'm such a outliner that I don't know what to write. Maybe I'm afraid of that blank page? [Smile]

My goals for next week:

  • Read

Not sure what I want to do for this next week. I want to do some writing on some scenes I recently thought about but they don't go to any book I have in mind.

What did I learn this week?

Nothing this week.

UPCOMING
(mainstream novel): I'd like to have chapters 2 and 3 completely edited and done by this time, next week.

Metzgerhund Retreat (YA series): The first story in the series, "Imperial Rules," is being reviewed by my teenage readers. Although...I don't expect most of them to dive into it until during the winter break.

Oh...I also posted a Thanxgiving Day Bloggathah post.

S!

This week I finished polishing my manuscript! [Big Grin]

Next week, I want to get my first batch of queries sent out (6, I think). I'm tempted to dive right back into my other WIP, but I think I need a little breather from novels. So instead, I'll work on some short stories (I WILL finish at least one of them), and catch up on some non-fiction reading.

Hey, I figured I would jump on this train and hope it helps me get somewhere. I have two novels I am currently working on. Both are still in world building / research stages. My working title for the first is "Here After." The second has the working title "Laureta of Prussia."

My Goals This Week:

Here After- not actively researching or constructing this one at the moment.

Laureta of Prussia- Finish research on the historical characters and put together the new age characters needed with at least names and basic functions.

Yeah, I worked on a novel. One. [Smile]

Something like twenty thousand words in one week. I'm not sure exactly how many but that would have to be close. Didn't think I could do it but more on a couple of other threads here and on my blog.

"Breaking Out"-even though I might change the name I didn't get the double meaning of that phrase like I wanted.- is done.

I have already started to revise-rewrite the final chapter. So I wrote on a novel and revised part of a novel this week. [Smile]
