Welcome to this week's Novel Support Group. Anyone can join. If you're new, tell us a bit about who you are and what project you are working on. Feel free to update the NSG Work in Progress thread with your current projects. Although we can report on any number of things, here is a list of suggestions (suggestions welcomed).

What were your goals last week and did you accomplish them?
Describe what you worked on.
Set goals for next week.
Did you learn something during this week?

Here is a list of things that you can do each week as we work on our novels (suggestions welcomed).

Writing on a novel
Characterization
World Building
Relevant research

As for me:

Last Week's Goals:

DUAL MAGICS SERIES: As time permits, go through the x-ray listings for the Dual Magics boxed set and THE BARD'S GIFT. This is here to remind me that eventually I need to get back to this.
[Razz]

BECOME: TO CATCH THE LIGHTNING/BECOME: TO RIDE THE STORM: Promote through social media. I now have two books on social media marketing. So . . . I need to schedule some time to read them.
Not really. And I still need to do the reading. [Frown]

MAGE STORM: Try to find a way around my writer's block.
Still trying. Might be getting somewhere. [Roll Eyes]

DAUGHTER OF THE SECRET MAGE (working title): Brainstorm.
I need to create a map. Re-reading DAUGHTER OF THE DISGRACED KING to, in part, re-familiarize myself with the geography so I can do the map. At least I've gotten that far. [Smile]

OTHER:
Update my blog twice a week.
Yes. [Smile]

Next Week's Goals:

DUAL MAGICS SERIES:
As time permits, go through the x-ray listings for the Dual Magics boxed set and THE BARD'S GIFT. This is here to remind me that eventually I need to get back to this.

BECOME: TO CATCH THE LIGHTNING/BECOME: TO RIDE THE STORM:
Promote through social media. I now have two books on social media marketing. So . . . I need to schedule some time to read them.

MAGE STORM:
Try to find a way around my writer's block.

DAUGHTER OF THE SECRET MAGE (working title):
Brainstorm. Start a map.

OTHER:
Update my blog twice a week.

Struggle to devise a method for a subtext development of each project in the queue, and an overall method for my aesthetic and creative slant. Review of notes for the many shows only mechanical and superficial and tangible features. Subtext and intangibles want influence and inclusion. Likewise, subtext wanted related to a satire target -- Menippean satire's target of social and moral aptitude. All of which for many years I'd thought were theme facets and now know otherwise.

Appreciation for Upton Sinclair's The Jungle smart subconscious plant, perhaps intended or unintended, objective correlative of meat packer workers and families as corporate livestock, all used "except the squeal," occasioned a cognitive leap. Certainly Menippean satire. From which, also, a full realization of my creative slant design arose.

From that realization, epiphany, now arises a general impression of a subtext development method, mindful the subtext be Pluralistic and not mere symbol plants, either. Huh, from mental composition to words here on the sacred page, further refinement of the subtext process method ensues: thought, word, and deed.

Unstuck now for projects in process.
