I've been a writer for years, but while I've poked off and on at original creations, I could never quite seem to find the spark that made it interesting enough to stick with it. Most of my work at honing the craft has been done at the fanfiction table, or the gaming universe table. Writing is writing, and everyone learns and grows as long as they keep writing, after all.
I've known of Hatrack for years, but only recently have I started finding the bits and pieces to pull together into an original work that's catching a fire for me. So here I am, hoping I can find the encouragement, musing, and support to continue plugging on through work shifts and fatigue.
I'm a CNA, and I love my job, even if it's physically, and sometimes mentally exhausting. It's too tempting after a long shift to come home and blow off writing in favor of mindlessly clicking around in Farmville2 or on Wajas or Howrse or Facebook instead of doing MORE work, especially when I frequently have to cook after getting home for my supper.
Feel free to prod and scold me. ^_^

Welcome and well come. Jump write in the water's fine. And I'll start the chiding write away -- writing isn't work. it's a passion that we're sometime too hot, tired and bothered (and hungry too) to indulge in.

I suppose the 'writing is work' part came out wrong. It is, but it isn't. I love knitting, and find it relaxing, but it can still require concentration, especially when dealing with a constantly-changing pattern of knits and purls.
Writing is enjoyable, but it can require brainpower I don't always feel like I have, especially after a shift of not only physically caring for people, doing reports, and cleaning, but also providing emotional support and care. So I end up not writing more often than not, even though my brain simmers with dialogue and ideas.

As it sounds like you know already this here place is right friendly with people who know a thing or three about the craft. And they don't mind sharing.
However as you explore the treehouse do be careful. There's this unicorn that wonders about, the filly can be down right mean at times.
