Woot! In just over a week a new Mysterious Galaxy bookstore is opening just about five miles from me.

Looking forward to that. Now I won't feel so bad about Borders closing.

(The local Barnes and Noble has a lousy SF/F section.)

I think I'll miss the Borders I go to when I go on my one of my semi-annual vacations next month to the Charlotte, NC area...I already missed one in Georgia on the way---it had already closed.

Nice to have a new bookstore.

I wonder if we will get a replacement for Boarders? I believe we are big enough to have two large stores. We have a few smaller independent ones.

I thought I read that Books a Million (however they spell their name) was finally coming to town but it won't be in the old Borders. The comment by them made it sound like they aren't coming here at all but since, supposedly, they like smaller storefronts, it could be somewhere else.

If they did I would probably abandoned B&N for two or three visits, at least.
