I officially got my first piece of fan mail tonight. One of my established fans on ff.net found out about my commercial stories and scooped up a few. They sent me a complimentary email this evening.
I can't decide whether to have it engraved on a gold plaque, or carved into a granite monument. what do you all think?

Congrates RC! It is soooo nice to get positive feedback. I made book one of my sci fi series free on Smashwords and people not only have been downloading it, but I now have eight 5 star reviews with some very encouraging responses. The only problem --- more people are wanting book 3 ASAP. I thought I would avoid being pressured to write by E-publishing, no deadlines, etc - nope. Now I feel like I really need to put the pedal-to-the-metal and write like a crazy person to finish book three. If only I had the gift of writing, as I still fight for most every page. Have fun with your cudos and let it bolster you to keep going. And again congrates. KT

Dang. Fan mail is cool---I got a pretty good amount of it for my Internet Fan Fiction.
It's gratifying to find out that somebody out there actually likes something you wrote---you don't get that feeling with a form-letter editorial rejection.

I have gotten a fair amount fo fan mail before, for my amateur work. But this is a first for my commercially published fiction. Definitely a first for my first novel. I can't help it:)
