If states have the right to allow Gay unions, then why not multiple partner unions? If the US is truly a secular society, then marriages should have no boundries other than being a legal union between consenting entities. The morality would be a matter to be sorted out between the entities and their maker.

I find that hard to believe, seeing as how the Koran specifically says not to kill.
The conversation has moved on from this point, but for what it's worth their is a principle developed by Islamic scholars for interpreting the Koran called "abrogation" which states that if two verses of the Koran seem to contradict, go with the most recent one. (By the way, the Koran is not arranged in chronological order.) The later versus of the Koran were a good deal more belicose than "do not kill"
