Anybody read this yet? I found it at the library today. Its Neal Stephenson's newest book. I haven't looked at it yet, just wondering.

There was another thread with the exact same title, but not a lot of people seemed interested. I'm still waiting for it at my local library. It sounds great.

Haven't had the chance, but I'm gonna give it a try. I've heard mixed reviews. Stephenson himself said if you don't like it, its a lot not to like (over 900 pages worth). The thing that appeals to me is that other lesser known scientists and naturalists, like Robert Hooke and and Carl Linneaus are characters. Of course, Newton's there, but he wasn't the only one breaking new ground. Jaxonn

funny you should mention it. I just started reading it yesterday. I love Stephenson. didn't get to far into it but I'm already hooked. Dimond Age and Snowcrash are 2 of favorites.

I'm almost 100 pages in. (Stupid homework). And, I'm still sorta waiting for something to happen. However, I've been told that book 2 starts to form some action/plot.
