I love the NES. It is probably one of my favorite consoles. The games were fun and exciting despite lower quality graphics. But as a kid we were never alowed to have one. That is probably why I'm now obsessed with video games. I own all the new systems. But I've always wanted the original (I know it's not THE original, but in my mind it really started the good stuff).
Here's the really great news. My buddy is selling me his. He even has the newer version Nintendo issued around 1996 were the cartridges load in the top like the SNES did, which means no blowing, tapping and praying for the games to work. He's selling me the console and 30+ games for 75 bucks. Holy crap what a deal. I've been looking around and EB games had an old beat up system for 30 bucks and the used games there cost from 5-20 bucks each. I think I'm ripping him off but he doesn't care!!!!! SWEET!!!!
(I would insert the happy dancing guys if I didn't think they were so stupid, but they are, so I won't)

I prefer the real thing for two reasons. First I just love having a controller in my hand and playing on a big TV. Second, I've had some bad experiences with emulators in the past. So I've pretty much swore off putting them on my PC.
I'm also a bit of a collector. I like actually having stuff, and a nintendo with thirty games is another big box of stuff!

not sure if Q-bert is one of the games or not. It's been a long time since I've seen the box of games. He lives in Columbus, OH about an hour and a half from here. I asked about buying from the memory that he had it.

What's that game with the blob that you feed gumdrops to to make it turn into stuff you need, like a ladder, trampoline, etc. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?
Oh, and a guy in my ward is willing to sell me his grey box for 10 bucks. Sweet!
