Farmgirl...you...haven't...seen...Gladiator? That's a surprise because it was such a big film. Memento & Femme Fatale were both small films and Y Tu Mama Tambien an incredibly amazing Mexican film about upper-class male teenagers taking a road trip with an older Spanish woman taking a road trip to a beach and making discoveries about themselves in the process...

Yay for Lola Rennt, no matter when you see it ^_^. As for the rest, I'd just have to agree. I'm too easily influenced and lazy to make a list of my own.

DXM

Oh, and I agree about the dubbed kungfu movie thing... but I like dubbed kungfu movies, sometimes. *shrugs*

Ok you just have some of the same prose mannerisms, albeit toned down, that made me wonder.

Ha! AJ, dude, while I do think Somalian's got excellent taste in movies (with the exception of Gladiator -- a mediocre formula Spielburg film at best, though awful pretty), I'm not sure we have anything else in common, least of all our prose.

But really, props on Memento. God of a film. Well, more god of a director. For god of a film, you'd have to go to American Beauty or Good Will Hunting, but I'm fairly sure neither were made after 2000.

Matrix and American Beauty were 1999. Goodwill Hunting was earlier, the same year with Titanic, but I don't recall the actual year. Must have been 97.

I really liked "Holes".

I finally saw "The Dark city" on friday,(I've been renting every sci-fi movie, for the local video store, I'm just working my way through all the ones I haven'e seen yet.) Any way it was brilliant, It is defanately being added to my favourites. [Big Grin]
though, I don't now when it was made probably not after 2000.
