I was arguing with my friend just the other second about whether or not Hatrack was the best forum or not. So, I thought I would put it up to the good members of hatrack, and take a vote, and a moment for hatrack love. (Somehow inspired by Jar Head's vote - at least something good came of it).

Well I have to ask people who know about it, don't I? And just because someone goes to a forum does not mean that someone thinks it's the best. I'm sure on many forums, that is not the case. I post on other forums, and this is by far my favorite.

I go on 3 forums currently : My school Promotion forum, My job intranet forum, and Hatrack. Today, my post prodution is the best on hatrack. And I speak so badly English ! "Y a pas photo !" as Frenches say ! I vote yes !

Do we really have to define things as best ? Hatrack is a very special place, but it doesn't make it "the best" for everyone.

Now you're talking crazy talk!
Actually, I'm going to have to go with "no". Hatrack has its strengths, but it also has its weaknesses. I don't generally think of the fora I frequent in terms of best and worst, but if I have to rank them Hatrack isn't the highest on the list.

Honestly, it's the only forum I use. So far it's the only one that doesn't have at least three posts per page 5p3113|) 0|_|7 | |\| 1337.

Sorry, twink, but no/though is NOT a slant rhyme, as the words rhyme exactly (in my dialect of English, at least)... in other words, the only difference between them is the initial consonant: /nou/, /∂ou/. A slant rhyme would use assonance or consonance for a sort of imperfect effect: fry/lied... smacked/licked... etc.

I am also on a discussion list that is much more narrowly focused, but this one is the best for general discussion. Also, this group, like my other group, is a great system of support and friend-making. It is very, very hard to find a group of people where I can make puns regularly and also discuss the fantasy genre without feeling like I am a weirdo who reads fluff.

Actually, while there are a lot of nice folks here, I've met more rudeness here than I've met on most other forums. I don't consider this a "generally friendly" forum.

I don't agree. Unless you come in both dual flamethrowers at the ready, Hatrack is polite to a fault. Best. Forum. Ever.

[Edit -- I thought I was writing this in response to Brian, but it's just as funny in response to Tick. Plus he's known me longer and thus might be more likely either to understand my humor or to forgive me if he doesn't. So it's all good.]

Yeah PapaMoose it is good to be back. I've been busy with school and everything, but when I came home, I found myself on the computer, and so naturally that led me back to my home at hatrack. I've missed it, and it's good to be back and meet new people.

Well, I still love all the chocolate I keep getting from people here. So as far as chocolate heaven is concerned, this place wins. Hands down. Chocolate covered and smeared and all.

It depends on what you are looking for. Hatrack is great for forming true human connections, but you do have to watch what you say. If you want to say whatever you want and not get punished for it, kuro5hin is better.
Edit: Also, UBB sucks, always has, and always will. Scoop and Slash both kick UBB's pasty white ass.
