(((Raia))) Sweetie, I'm afraid this is normal part of grieving. You will miss her deeply from time to time, and it will hurt. I wish I could do more than a virtual hug for you.

Instead of trying to say something comforting and ending up saying something totally unhelpful, I'm just going to send you a gentle e-hug: ((((Raia)))
I actually think that that's the first hug I've given on hatrack.
edit: It's actually the second one. Coincidentally, the first hug I gave was for Anna.

I still sometimes cry over a hymn that was sung at my best friend's funeral, and that was 14 years ago. It gets better, but for me, not completely gone. I don't miss her as much as I used to, but I do still miss her.
Give yourself whatever time you need to grieve in whatever way is best for you.

Thanks everyone. I don't know why it's so much harder now than it has been for a long time. But it is.

Oh, raia...of course you will never "get over" losing her. And I hear the first two years are the hardest and full of ups and downs. Surround yourself wth love and let yourself feel all this.

It may be that you have a measure of happiness going and that makes you think of her, in a place of joy that you had together. It is good that you can feel joy still and it is good that it makes you think of her and wish you could share it with her. It is good that she will always be young and waiting for you at the end of the world. I am sure she wants you to get on with being happy and letting her cheer you on!
