Your right Celia, it does seem that OSC should come to Vigor Church (or where it would be) for the release of this book at least (as compared to an Ender book). And if he doesn't have control over where he goes then...well I don't know what he should do because I just lost intrest.

I saw someone on the metro once reading Enderovy Hra. Once I made the necessary linguistic and logical connections, it was the coolest thing ever.
Prague is beautiful. Everyone wants to come to Prague. You've been here before so you know your constitution can stand it. I can think of at least one important person who would come to an OSC signing in Prague. We can give you the notorious historical-perspective tour. You can drink hot chocolate so thick your spoon stands up at Cafe Louvre. I'd get all my friends to , which is surely worth the trip.

I just checked at the book store in Dayton where he will probably be doing the signing(it is the one where he has done his last three when in town) and they do not have a date yet. I wonder if they are still working out the dates?

He might sign your hip, Ralphie -- he signed Mooselet's diaper while Mooselet was still wearing it....
We're due November 14th, so it'll be close. The signing (if at Vroman's again) is more than an hour away from the hospital, though, so Mama almost definitely can't be there. I'd really like to make it, though. This tour is extra special somehow.

No dates -- and as you should see on the first post, not even any actually PROMISED cities or stores. Kinda wish nobody had posted it here -- but it's on the TOR website, what can I do

Don't worry Hobbes. We're all excited to get hyper and gossip about mere possibilities!! We know that none of it is set in stone. You still made us happy and gave us fodder for discussion and banter.

Hobbes -- no problem, I was just in conversations with the publicity people about possible changes to the cities and didn't want to disappoint everyone. But as long as everybody knows it's not in stone, I have no more concerns
Pop -- Your baby is due Nov. 14th? That's my birthday, cool!

Hey Kristine, while you are talking with those publicity people you should tell them that Tucson is a wonderful place to go, especially in the latter months of the year! Frankly its one of the best times to visit. There are lots of great restaurants around here too
(I know you probably can't influence them but I thought I'd give it a try )

Kristine, I'm certain that our little one (whose name has not yet been decided) will be honored to share a birthday with you, if he happens to arrive on his due date. Mooselet was one day early, though, so we'll just see.

OK, so just in case our lovely city of Portland is graced with the presence of our OSC and Co...I need to know some OSC book signing rules. What are they usually like? Are there certain pet peeves...stuff I shouldn't do and stuff I should do that some of you wish you had done at a book signing?? Help me out here oh wise ones!
PS Zotto! Let me know when you're in town. We'll have a hatrack party.

I'll make sure that Mama knows (regarding both kacard and dkw), because I'm sure she'll want to carry the baby all the way to the due date just for that reason.

My mother was perfectly happy with an early birthday present -- my oldest was born 10 days before my mom's birthday. Then again, my mom's oldest (me) was born a week before my dad's birthday, so there was a precedent.

The 21st is a Friday. This would be better for me and I'm guessing for most of you. It is approximately the same distance from Indianapolis to Cinci as it is to Dayton.
I could take a 1/2 day off of work and arrive at about the time the signing started. I could pick up people in Chicago and/or W. Lafayette and/or Indianapolis on the way, though it would be nice if we could meet somewhere near the freeway to expedite things. I have a 7 seat mini van though one of the seats is for me, and another would be for Steve if he wants to come on another of my crazy expeditions. We would probably want to make overnight arrangements somewhere. I'm all for something like Motel 6 getting one or two rooms and people bringing sleeping bags to crash on the floor.
Btw I hope Uncle Orson survives such a grueling tour schedule. While it will be fun for us fans it looks pretty miserable for the author.
I'm putting this in this thread but also going to start a thread specifically for this expedition.

The Pasadena/L.A. signings are also three days before Mama Squirrel's due date. I'll probably miss it this time around. Why couldn't he plan this around our schedule, anyway? *sigh*
There's still a chance I'll make it, albeit a slim one. Anyone else going?

Pop, wouldn't it be cool if Mama had baby MooseletII a week or two early? Then you could show off the youngest OSC fan.

Last time around, I went to both the dayton signing and the cincinnati signing. I had a lot more books to sign then so I took half to the first and half to the second. This time, I dont hardly have as many books to sign and will probably only go to the cincinati one. For those coming from the west, keep in mind that the cincinnati one is on the east side of cincinnati.
It is about a 15 minute drive from my work, so ill probably go straight from work to the store. Last year, he was there early talking with a class from a local school. I know they were trying to have a private question and answers discussion group. We were only able to listen. But I hope to see any one of you there. Though, I think Im way more intimidated in person then online.

I'd just like to remind the Cards how much fun they had in central Florida in the hopes you'll come back. Please tell me you had fun in Florida...

You got that right!! I've been to two OSC signings, one in Boulder Colorado, the other was Endercon. In Boulder I was so happy, but just speaking was a trial (here he was: my favorite author: in person!) At Endercon was worse. I'm hopinh this time I say something intelligent when he signs my books, maybe I should write it down...
