It was late, and Pat Boy was tired. My wife had to correct me because I misread it. Or mistyped my answer. Or something.

I really, really enjoy the Ellery Queen books. That's my literary chewing gum - my comfort books - my "now you're home" bookshelf. It's good to know the story!

Ellery Queen is great! I was hooked with the first book I read, The Finishing Stroke. I had an advantage reading that book over your average English speaker, and I still didn't figure it out! And the title should totally have clued me in, too!
I had a second-hand subscription to EQ Mystery Magazine for a while too. Those shorts were not quite as good as actual Queens, but they were very good!
If I ever have all the time and money I want , I plan to subscribe to EQMM.
