I don't like soft serve, so no, I would not get it in the rain.
Would you like it on a train?

Allegra,
I'll probably be going to Valdosta in about a year to get my masters in library science. They're not accredited yet, though, so I can't graduate until around 2007. I don't know if that means they're not accredited at all, or just for the librarian degree. So you might wanna check that out.

I'll be attending mostly online, as it's about 4 hours away.

Oh... and the Cold Stone Creamery... and the Marble Slab Creamery...and basically any shop that lets you pick your flavor of ice cream and mix in ANY mixin's you want is SOOOOO good.

Georgia's got tons of those.

I just had my first ever cone of "birthday cake" ice cream on a waffle cone at a little place called Brewsters (don't know if it's a chain or not) and oh man it was so good! I wanted to go back and get another one as soon as I was done, though I restrained myself. Still I've been dreaming of it ever since. Highly, highly addictive. Tastes just like a yummy yummy birthday cake, with icing and sprinkles all through. [Smile]

Thanks for the advice Katarain. I might ask about it during orientation. I am so glad they have decent ice cream. I couldn't stand being in a warm place and not being able to get good ice cream.

I think nearby Georgia Hatrackers should all come visit when I get there. We can have an AllegraCon and eat ice cream.

*grins* My track record with meeting real, live Hatrackers has been less than sterling.

That said, you might tweak Olive's motherly instincts to arrange a clump so you can be welcomed properly to Georgia. [Big Grin]

Dragon,

I use to live right by that King Kone. It's on DW highway, right? I would go there after work and get an extra thick chocolate milk shake. Soooooo good...
Oh how I envy you. Ice cream out here is crap. Ben and jerrys is considered to be high end.

Trevor, yup. And I get to go tuition free, as an employee of the state.

Now I just gotta decide if I WANT my masters in library science. And I think I do. That way, I can either go back to teaching high school, be a media specialist in a high school (aka high school librarian), or be a university librarian--teaching library courses. I like the hours...and the job is cool. And hey, two masters=more money. [Smile]

Allegra, what degree are you going to valdosta for? And it's about 4 hours away from me. Thus the need to do all classes online. [Smile]

Bloomington, Indiana. In the same town as one of the bast music schools in the country. Sometimes I am not exactly sure why I am leaving.

Well, make sure you have good reasons. I had a full 4-year scholarship to the public university where I lived, instead I went to the private SDA college, and got into a LOT of debt. But you know, learning from Christian professors was really good. I got a good education.

But it's also the reason that I decided to go to a public university to get my masters. Let's me get a more balanced education--see what the crazy world thinks. [Smile] But I do wish I had thought about moving somewhere else. This English masters program is pretty boring. There's not much customization and choice of classes each semester.

So just be sure--and be willing to transfer back to Indiana if the school sucks. [Smile]

I am sure that I do not want to go to Indiana University for my undergrad for many reasons, but sometimes it strikes me as odd that I am not going to the fabulous music school that is 10 min away from my house.

That is a bit odd, but you can always transfer if you decide later that you'd rather be there...

I don't know your reasons for not wanting to go, but let's face it - a lot of kids want to get away from the folks and jump headlong into the wild unknown when they head out for college.

Granted, I don't know that Valdosta is all that exotic and exciting unless you have an onion fixation, but the idea has a certain appeal.

I don't know all of her reasons, but IU is known for not picking home town kids for their music program. Plus it has to be warmer.

Definitely warmer - it'll be a rare winter when you actually see snow.

And Florida is just down the road a ways.

Today I ate ice cream in the rain. And first I thought "What a perfect start to summer!", and then I thought of this thread.

Does this mean I'm officially a Hatrack addict?

I found out that Brusters gives you a free extra scoop if it's raining. How about that? I think that's awesome. As much as it rains here in the summertime it must cost them quite a bit to maintain that policy.
