Just to continue my spiel on reality tv (I just realized that if I added to my last post, it'd likely get lost at the bottom of the last page), the only reason why it looks like people on reality tv live so well, in general, is because they get free stuff while they're being filmed. I think I've said this before, but Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey were in debt to the tune of around a million dollars when Newlyweds aired. The limos and such, if they were ever in them, were provided by MTV. They owed a lot a lot of money. The real benefit to Newlyweds was to make them bigger celebrities, which led to them earning more money through other means.
Now, I'm all for turning spaceboys into celebrities, but any significant amount of money wouldn't come directly from a tv show.
