Quite harsh, but...
Thanks for the power, JH!

quote: Nuh-uh!! Its all the latin people who are making everyone so dependable on our work that they will soon no longer be able to live without us. That's when we attack!
*thinks for a moment...*
Hey, in Israel you don't depend on Latin people, but on workers from the far east! HAHA! You're not as powerful as you think! MUHAHAHAHA!
Come to think of it, I think that a pact with the Chinese would be a good idea, given that their population is almost a quarter of the world, and that Israel sells them warfare items anyway. Jonathan Howard, what do you think?

Anti-jewish sentiments are entrenched in large parts of Europe. I didn't know this, or maybe I knew but I didn't believe it, but I had dinner with some polish friends, and they were talking about the vile and hateful things their parents said and believed about jews, of course they believed that it 9/11 was the result of a Jewish conspiracy.
This was funny when crackpots were saying it, but according to the group I was having dinner with, there is an anti-jewish undercurrent among many of the catholic and protestant communities throughout Europe.
I'm sure Europeans can say the same about racism in the US, but the thing is, I'd actually rather be black in the US than Jewish in old europe. With all of the BS I have to deal with, I'm glad that nobody is jealous of my wealth or influence, that level of hatred expressed by the parents of my friends is scary.
I used to laugh when I heard about this particular conspiracy, now I'm more worried that people believe it's true.

WEll, Beanny, you're right. Israel doesn't need Latinos and Latinas (that supply the porn-business in California), but you can call the Sephardim Latins, right? I mean, the Jewish Spaniards mixed with the Middle Easterns, and the Christians mixed with the Native Americans, so there's common Iberian ground.
And since roughly 50% of the Jews here have partly Sepharady blood (statistics went down due to heaps of Russians and Americans that came by), then the East-Asians are who we're dependant upon.
I say that China is the one real empire of this world. Even when it "falls", it never falls completely, and even when it does, it is only militarily (one time, if I remember, to the Mongols). And they kep on rising to power. China is the crystal of Earth. Pacts with it are vital.
You too, Irami, are right. No nergy to elaborate why, but you're right.

There is no doubt that there is still plenty of anti-Semitism around. It is generally less visible in the US than in Europe right now, but it is around.
Irami, your reaction as a black person reminded me of something that happened to me in nursing school. A local organization gave me an award, and I had to go to this fancy country club with the dean of the nursing school to received it. As we were walking in, I remarked that the place looked like "old money." She remarked that it looked like the kind of place that wouldn't have let us in 50 years ago (she is also Jewish). I said, I was thinking more like 20. When I mentioned this to a friend, she said the actual story was that Jews and blacks were not allowed in until 5 years ago, when a prominent member of the club got into politics and a big stink was made about him belonging to a discriminatory club.
I recounted this story to a professor of mine, a black woman with whom I became very close during nursing school. She gave me a funny look and remarked, "When you are black, you sometimes forget that stuff like that happens to Jews, too."
It just struck me at the time.
