I recently happened across a box of free SF magazines from the early '60s. After keeping an eye on them for a day and not seeing any of them disappearing from the box, I took the whole load of them home. They're mostly The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction, Galaxy, and If. There were probably 30 or so magazines in the box, all of which were in more or less perfect condition. Are they worth anything? Ebay is unfortunately blocked from work, so I can't just surf over and see what that type of thing is going for.

Looks like Galaxy is going for around 1.00, If for slightly more, and depending on what issue you have of Magazine of Sci-Fi and Fantasy, it could go for a little more... I suggest you find out if there are any popular authors in any of the magazines and auction it with those in the title, if you plan on auctioning....

Actually, I intend to keep them; I was just curious as the whether they were worth anything. They're full of big names from the golden age; it's pretty cool to be holding the very magazine in which this or that seminal SF work was first seen.

I have a small collection of them as well, pu from a library sale. I have the world's greatest cheap book collection.
I'd hang on to them. Sooner or later someone will be in the market to collect them and you'll be right there.

I made it a point to collect all of OSC's short fiction work in the magazines at the beginning of his career. I have all of his analog and omni stories from the 70's and 80's and have been working on asimov's.
Also, I will be able to get them all signed when he comes to Cincinnati on the book tour!
