This thread can be for good, quick recipes for few people - like the number of students in an apartment, for instance.
Italian Stuff I just made this- we had a half-bottle of marinara sauce and a half-bottle of alfredo, so I combined them and put in some Italian seasoning and garlic pepper, and added an onion, two small yellow squashes and some broccoli and we're eating it with noodles. I didn't know if the marinara/alfredo thing would work but it DOES

You know what's really sad? I can't even make something as good as that with the stuff in my room. Currently, I could have a combination of ramen, Doritos, and Pringles for dinner. Oi.

Ooooh, here's another quick meal using Ramen noodles and Cambells Tomato Soup.
Makes 2 servings or one very large serving
-boil the Ramen noodles from one package of Ramen soup (throw away the flavor pouch, it's mostly salt anyway) -add about one tsp dried oregano (optional for flavor) -once the noodles have cooked, about 3 min, add one can of Cambells condensed tomato soup -add about a half a can of cold water
Serve hot (I like to serve it with half a grilled cheese sandwich and salad for a satisfying supper)

I had a friend who used to eat a package of ramen noodles with a can of tomato paste and call it "ghetto spaghetti" - poor kid.

Ok, I have something thats really good. But I'm more of a dessert guy.
Mini Graham Pudding Pie-
Crushed up some graham crackers, enough where if I flattened them, they'd cover up the inside of a cereal bowl.
Added melted butter to the graham cracker and made a crust type thing. Be careful with how much butter you add. You just want enough where the graham dust will stick to itself. Flatten your graham mixture so it forms into the shape of the bowl.
Now, you should have something that looks like a crust, inside a cereal bowl.
Add pudding and you have yourself a quick and simple one person mini graham pudding pie.

Get a can of Sweetened Condensed Milk
Get a pot of water.
Without opening the can, boil it.
Put in SCM for about 5 hours, making sure the water level does NOT go below the level of the can. Constantly add water to avoid the level going below the level of the can.
After 5 hours, allow for it to cool before opening.

In my job I backpack eight days a week, and when I worked in Utah we had Ramen noodles for lunch at least three times a week. We don't have fires at lunch. We...ate them ...dry... (he's green, and that's him throwing up)
So alright, lets get some real recipes in here. With Doritos you could... buy an avacado and tomatoes, and some hummus, and sour cream, and an onion...and maybe beans, if you like beans...and make dip. MMM!

The missionaries in Bulgaria developed their own ramen dinner we called "Shanghai". Boil the ramen noodles then dump them (minus their water) into a saute pan and add the seasonings and eggs (as many was you want, I usually did 1-2 per package of noodles). Some people liked putting in other seasonings, onions, and potatoes, but I've never tried it that way. After the eggs are cooked serve it with a little plain yogurt, soy sauce, and curry powder on top.

whip an egg and add it to plain ole Ramen chicken soup. You end up with something that tastes surprisingly like egg drop soup. Yum!

One of my old standby's ChiliMacNCheese. Make Kraft MacNCheese, warm favorite chili with or without meat depending on your preference and stir it in with the Mac. MMMmmmmm MMMMMmmmm Ghetto.

When I was in Russia, I lived with a single mom and her son, and I ate dinner with them. When I looked in the fridge in the morning, there would be an egg, some cabbage, mayonnaise and sometimes a link of meat. She had pasta, potatoes, kashi (like cracked wheat, only better) and lard in the pantry, too, but it wasn't a lot, but somehow there was no end to the meals she could create with so few ingredients. I would love to be able to do that.
I think my biggest standbys are chicken broth, sour cream, eggs, potatoes, spaghetti sauce, noodles, salsa, tortillas, taco seasoning, onions, peppers, wild rice, italian seasoning, seasonall, garlic salt and any veggies I can steam cook. and peanut butter, and ice cream, and a loaf of bread and cheese and lunch meat and and and and and ... I don't know how she did it

I just remembered sometimes as a treat she would have a can of caramel, she boiled it- it wasn't labeled, but it must have been dulce de leche. Now I can make it! I thought it was a Russian thing

Chinese Chicken Salad (sorry, I never measure anything.)
Shredded cabbage dry ramen noodles, with the flavor packet cooked chicken bits Black pepper, sesame seeds, sliced almonds white vinegar, oil, sugar
Put cabbage and chicken in a bowl. crumble dry noodles over cabbage. sprinkle flavor packet, pepper, sesame seeds, and almonds. Add small equal parts vinegar, and oil. Sprinkle sugar on. Toss and refrigerate...it's better the second day.
Spamaroni
cheap box mac and cheese 1/2 can tomato soup spam bites (or ham) chopped green peppers and onions
cook macaroni, spam and peppers and onions. drain. add cheese powder, but not milk or butter. stir in tomato soup.

Chicken. You can't go wrong with chicken. It's the cheapest meat. I am a mistress of getting good food for cheap. I just take chicken and boil it with onions and seasons like cumin and curry power and cloves. Or I bake it, or I fry it. I eat it with uncle ben's rice because I HATE cheap nasty rice. Hate it. I'd rather eat tin cans than each cheap rice, why, even if I only make 20 a week, I'm still eating the good rice. And I eat it with some canned or frozen veggies and some homemade lemonade because I am good at Spartan cooking.
