Yes, unfortunately, I am leaving Wednesday. I'm going to Greece, you see, to study abroad for the semester. My minimalist posting will take a sharp decline, as I have no idea if I'll be near an internet source, be it on my laptop (which I'm taking along) or in a cafe.
That said, I do hope to find some sort of internet so I can do weekly (I really hope at least once every two weeks) updates via email. I'll be taking loads of digital pictures, having tons of fun with real Greek people, and basically getting myself into far too many adventures.
I don't know if I'll have any sort of online photo album, else this wouldn't be an issue: If anyone would like to receive these updates, drop me an email (best email would be capennow@students.wisc.edu - that's where they'll be coming from) with the appropriate contact info. Same goes for postcards, because I know I like getting random postcards from cool places
So yes. I'm getting fairly excited but am sad at the same time. I hope everyone here has a reasonable end-of-winter/beginning-of-spring! Farewell, fellow 'Rackers! I might be back in the summer, I might not - depends on if I actually can stay in Athens for the Olympics That might be pretty cool

Oh, wow, Carrie!!! *jealous* Sounds like a BLAST! I'm sure you won't be missing us too much, what with Greece, and people, and food, and music...
But we will miss you, and we hope you have a great time!! (((((Carrie))))) Sounds like an amazing experience!! When you do get back, make sure you tell us all about it, lots of times, so we can all get insanely jealous, and never speak to you again.
Well, sort of... Hehe, have fun!

I know there is an, "Its all Greek to me" joke in here, but I'll let it pass.
Have fun.
Hey, isn't Greece in the same time zone as Poland? Its about as close as some of us have gotten to Kama (I know, its still a long, long way). Maybe you can get a Eur-rail pass and run up and see her.

Carrie... somehow the sentence "Yes, unfortunately, I am leaving Wednesday [for Greece]." doesn't quite jive with me. Hahaha.
I am very envious of your opportunity, but not so much as to not wish you luck and godspeed on your adventure. It is going to be an adventure. Europe is a great place. I love the U.S., but I miss my time in Germany as a kid. (I am a former Army brat.)
I hope you have a wonderful time and eat lots of baklava and spanikopita and walk the paths of the Ancients. (Remember to wear sensible shoes while you are doing so.)

I'll be mostly in Athens, though we're doing many side trips to the islands and around the mainland as well. I hope to spend a couple weekends in Italy and to be in Scotland for my Spring Break. I'll try to stop by sometime in the next four months - and I will totally come back and brag
I'll miss you guys!
