I've been playing all weekend. Anyone interested in putting together a hatrack clan for Live? The game rocks but Halo via Xbox live is amazing. My gamer tag is Beatnix... weird huh? Leave your Gamer tags here and lets put one together.
I've been really busy lately, but I love Halo and playing with my friends. So if folks are on and want me to play, give me an IM Posts: 14745 | Registered: Dec 1999

Geoff, is wireless too expensive? I've got a wireless router hooked up to my DSL and I have a wireless...box or whatever, attached to my xbox.

50 foot patch cable and a cordless drill. At least that worked for me.
Cut last scene? I haven't played much of the campain yet. Only just beginning my covenant segment. Spoilers not a big deal to me at least, so can you explain? please?

It's actually chaeper to go the other way. Buy an internal wireless card for your pc (about 50 bucks) and attach your modem and wireless router to your Xbox directly. The external wireless box for the console is about 100 dollars, right?
Anyway, I don't have a gamertag yet (still waiting for my XBOX live kit to come in the mail) but when I get it, it will probably be DarthJesus

I payed 40 bucks for a d-link router, and about 30 bucks for the cable. Went through a vent, drilled hole in duct, pulled wire through, ran it under carpet in basement directly into my xbox. Works great and hidden well.

But you don't need the Xbox wireless adapter. A PC wireless adapter is only 50 bucks, then you can plug the Xbox into the router directly and move your modem and router into the room with your TV.

Well, I do because I only have one working phone jack and it's in the bedroom, not the living room. Posts: 14745 | Registered: Dec 1999

As to the ending ... they were forced to cut it for time/budget reasons, and instead left the game as a "cliffhanger" ... but unfortunately, they never had the chance to remake the final cinematic to set it up as an actual cliffhanger.
So what you have is a scene that sets up an amazing, kickass final level, and you start gripping your controller and getting all excited ... and then the credits roll. Not fun.

Ok, so there are a few people interested... What do you think? A clan called Hatrack? I mean who wouldn't be struck with fear by the name of a piece of home furniture? I'm not exactly sure how it works but I'll play around with it tonight and see what I can figure out.

OK, I guess it was that easy. I set up a clan named Hatrack and sent invites to Jamie, Lime, Epictetus and waiting to get the word form Idemosthenes (darth Jesus?). I'll get invites out to anyone that gets hooked up or leaves me their gamertag. Seriously this could be cool. Not only because of the Halo but also being able to talk in real time with real voices while blowing stuff up. Awesome!

1st of all I already set it up as Hatrack, as I said above, what is more fear inducing than furniture? And second of all it would have to be "Cyber Pirates" if I had anything to do with it.

Your gamer tag didn't take. They don't use underscores in halo tags. Any ideas How I messed up or is there something I did wrong? Sent invite to both DarthJesus II and WhithyGhost16. Can't wait to start getting on line and playing a little.

I managed to find an Xbox wireless G adapter at Target for $40 on clearance. I've still got the receipt, if anyone would like a photocopy. With some slick talking and a little luck, you should be able to get a price match at Best Buy.
Halo 2's MP is almost the perfect multiplayer experience. It is certainly the best online experience I've ever had. Friend me and send me a message; I'd love to blow things up with you guys!

This game is too awesome not to get involved with it. If you have Xbox and a high speed modem you need to jack in and get it on.

Had fun playing with you Beatnix. I was playing with my localish friends as I'm sure you could tell, we'll have to play 1 on 1 sometime. Posts: 1132 | Registered: Jul 2002

Beatnix - I got notification that you sent me a message, but I couldn't get the dumb thing to play (or find the invite). I've been playing Halo for a long time, but I'm new to Live, so it could just be user error.
Anyway, so far the only way I've found to receive voice messages successfully is to have both people online at the same time. It's a little mind-boggling that they don't let those messages stick around.
Ah well - invite me again; I'd love to join!

We kept trying to figure out who you were. "He must be a hatracker." "No he isn't, kick him off." "Where is the jerk!?" "I don't know!" "Kill him!!" "GOT HIM!" "He's back!" "Ok, the four of us team up and start killing everyone." "Ok.... oops, I killed you. " "Yeah, well ooops I killed you back!" "You jerk! Die!!"

opps... I didn't mean to forget you guys. Just played with the others yesterday or the day before and anythings longer than that and my memory gets fuzzy. We definately need to set up weekend and time when we can all jack in at the same time and do some clan fighting. By the way. Jamie, accept my friend request already so we can play sometime! I guess that last level was sort of short, but then I thought they were setting it up for Halo 3. Hmmm. X Box live does sound pretty fun. Maybe I'll print out a hatrack thread and have my daughter read it to me while we play for the chatter experience. I don't know, we have enough people old enough (if you disregard the M rating) to make it interesting.
