Between this and the new Hulk, I feel like Marvel is making it's motto "We're Marvel. And we have the budget to re-do it as often as necessary, dammit!"
At least this one isn't set in Florida.

Lionsgate holds the Punisher film rights, not Marvel Studios. They worked as a production company on it, but (unlike Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk) it's not one of "theirs", despite them owning the character.
edit: After having seen it...don't know how I feel about the outfit. Definitely more realistic from a survivability standpoint for a rampaging vigilante to be wearing combat armor...but he really needs a leather jacket.

Confusing enough?
Yes, thank you. Room spinning. Going to lie down now.

I actually liked the last movie. I get that there's a general animosity for it, but I don't know anything about the comic to compare. Is it just really unfaithful to how fans felt the character should have been portrayed?

Well, if this new one's *more accurate* then I guess it's a good thing I've never read the comics.

I really like the first Punisher. Even the florida setting didn't bother me because the Punisher is not always in NYC. I think they did a great job with it. I know it was over the top in some things but it had a more believeable feel to it. This one has me worried...lots of neon colors and too many Matrix shots going on. Thomas Jane backed out of it because he thought it was not going to be a good movie
