We recently had heavy spackle repair in our house. Everything was cleaned in the main kitchen sink with the garbage disposal. The water seems to be going down fine. Last night when we ran the dishwasher, the was some powdery white water leftover in the dishwasher.
Coincidence? I think not!
Now, how would I fix this? Try the cheap plumber trick and use bleach? Could I use it down the normal sink? Is it safe for the dishwasher?

Check the dishwasher trap for mashed up plaster and try Mr Muscle or some sort of dissolving drain clearer that you can just pour down and leave to get the rubbish out of the system. Then run the tap for a bit so that it's really gone before you switch the dishwasher back on.
