Just finished Wolves of the Calla, which was good, if uneven in places. However, and this is where spoilers come, so go away if you've not read it

With Roland's discovery of King's Salem's Lot and the author's repeated statement that he himself will be a figure in the series, I REALLY hope he doesn't pull a "this is all just fiction, happening in King's mind" sort of Joycean crappola.

I haven't waited decades to read the end of this series for it to be something overly self-reflective and pretentious like that...

I don't think he will. I find the whole situation to be quite interesting. I don't know how he's going to pull off putting himself in the story, but I hope he does it well. There's a lot of potential for things to go wrong with something like this.

However, if he can pull it off in a clever and interesting way, then he will further cement his status as one of the greatest writers ever.

I was worrying about the same thing, but I don't think he will. That would be too obvious, and I have more faith in him than that.

Of course, if that is how it ends then I may have to drive up there and give him a sever beating.

I was more ticked off by his plan to put out the last two books next year.

It makes me think that the series is complete and they're simply working out the marketing.

However, I think it should be one of Arthur Eld's knights in the tower. As we know from Marten, moving through time is possible there.

Yeah, and they have to turn it into a crystal tower.

Ok, maybe not.

I need to get WOTC. I need it like a fix.
