The movie theater at my school is showing Solaris. The description says its one of the most beautiful science fiction films ever made. Would those of you who've seen it agree with that? Just trying to get get some input to see if I should go watch it.

Well, I assume you're talking about the 2002 version with George Clooney, not the Rusian one from the 70s. Anyway, I personally found it to be a bit dull and pointless. As usual, the book is better. But if you've got nothing better to do and it won't cost a lot, perhaps you should see it anyway. My opinion might be a bit harsh because I was expecting it to be more faithful to the novel.

Oh... Are you serious? I only mentioned it half as a joke and half to show off my knowledge that it existed! I only saw a brief snippet of that one. Not enough to judge it.

Yeah. They are showing this one for free in the International Cinema. I actually wasn't aware of the 2002 version with Clooney.

Isn't that funny. I assumed that the Clooney version is the one that everyone would know, and the Russian one was obscure! FYI the Clooney version bombed in theatres. boxoffice mojo.Posts: 1569 | Registered: Dec 2004
