I am trying to remember the name of a book/series. In it the witches weren't neccessarily evil and they would only melt with lemon water, not regular water. Also there were dragons, and the only poison to kill a dragon was called something like dragons bane. Ring any bells anyone?

Yes, although you've got something wrong. You want the Enchanted Forest Chronicles by Patricia C. Wrede. (Wizards melt with soapy lemon water, not witches.) The first book is Dealing with Dragons.

There was a princess named Cimorene or some such, right? I read the first few of those, but I don't remember the name of the series either. Googling tells me that the first book was called Dealing with Dragons, which I do remember. Turns out that the series came to be called the Enchanted Forest Chronicles. The books were by Patricia C. Wrede.

Added: Beaten to it because I had to Google. *sigh*

I was Princess Cimorene for Halloween last year.

I read all four of those over and over and over and own the first two. Which is probably why I beat you. [Wink]

I own the first two as well, but I haven't read them since my mid-teens.

We have all four of the books and I re-read them pretty regularly. You beat me because I'm three hours behind here in Hawaii. [Wink]

We've named several cats after Morwen's - including Scorn, Miss Eliza Tudor and Fiddlesticks. Those books are awesome.

You're only two hours behind me.

But that's totally cool about the cats. [Big Grin]

If you're on Daylight Savings time, I'm three hours behind the west coast of the US mainland... when you go off DST, then we'll be two hours behind. But I'm confused about when that happens. But I'm pretty sure it hasn't happened yet, because the Daily Show is still on at 8 and not 9.

Really? I didn't know you don't do DST. DST ends the 30th.

Every time I see this thread title, my mind starts going,
"Oranges and lemons, say the bells of St. Clemens..." [Smile]
