Something crossed my mind today and I thought I would share. When some one asks me if I have a "Personal Relationship with God." I say yes. It is just that, a great relationship, but very personal. I'm going to open up that personal just a bit for you folks.
A few months ago I decided to improve my sales performance with a little mantra I made up.
Since I spent too much time researching my calls instead of making my calls I realized the truth...
"You won't know until you call."
Then, of course, I realized I wasn't getting all the information from my clients because I wasn't asking them all the questions so I added.
"You won't know until you ask."
Then, the big sales trick, I know that the clients will tell you everything you need to know, if you patiently listen. So I added:
"You won't know until you listen."
As I was going out the door today I thought of something else. It had been a long while since I sat down and had a moment with God. I personally frown on Prayer as a Wish List (God, let me win the lottery.) but to sit down and thank God, ask for guidance, admit my follies, these are prayers that I admire.
It had been too long since I had done any of them.
Then it struck me. That sales mantra is also a great mantra for prayer.

Personally, I was always frustrated with this because I never got an answer. I prayed constantly as a kid/teenager and "listened", but I never got an answer. They told me I must not have been really listening, or I was praying about the wrong things.
Sorry for being...divisive or whatever.
